Abstract

Based on undisputed scientific facts, all divine features of God are identified in the singularity at the start of time and space, which cannot be described by any real matter or energy, known to us today. Thus, the origin of the universe as well as its creation mechanism is supernal, attributed theologically to God. According to cosmology the singularity materialized in the first milliseconds into a system of well-defined elementary particles, precisely described by physics and containing all matter particles of the universe in an extremely condensed state.  This initial state represents the seed of the universe in analogy to the seed of a plant, because it contains a fully predetermined program for its development, given by very specific information of the elementary particles and the ability of information processing. Thus, it represents all characteristics of a living system from the very beginning.  This way the transcendent Spirit of God transformed in a single act at once into the immanent seed of the universe, precisely preprogrammed for a specially designed development of everything within the complete universe, according to his divine volition. Finally, after billions of years, living nature and intelligent beings evolved out of this supernally intelligently designed seed of the universe, allowing us as his descendants on earth to participate partially in some aspects of his divine features.

  1. Introduction

A science-based theology must proof God as creator of the world. Thus, all divine properties of God must be identified by multiple proved scientific facts, which have been effective beyond any doubt at the very beginning of the universe. Theology tells us a story, how God created the world as well as humans. Today natural sciences provide us with all relevant facts, even concerning the timeline of the development of the whole universe and nature on earth. If there is a God, then he had to be present at the start of time. Thus, a science-based theology must be able to proof the existence of God at the very beginning of time.

Science has changed the world fundamentally in the last few centuries. The resulting insight combined with the accumulated knowledge of thousands of years provide a flood of new information, changing the quality of our thinking. Thus, in today’s high-tech information driven world we understand all processes and interconnections very much better than ever before and consequently, rely on proved facts and no longer on assumptions or beliefs. This contrasts essentially with former times, when human thinking was mainly based on philosophy and theology.

Progress in physics concerning the genesis of the universe and of life on earth today even enables us to investigate, what theology refers to the work of God. Consequently, based on scientific facts, it must be possible to identify all characteristic divine features of God in the creation process of the universe and even how he implemented himself and his will eternally into all details of the development of our world from the very beginning up to now.

The fact, that transcendence is inaccessible to natural sciences, is generally used to declare that natural sciences and theology are incompatible. However, this conclusion is incorrect. Both disciplines play an important role in our real life. This refers not only to our physical and mental life, but also very generally to the sense of life and to the question of life before birth and after death.  Our thinking spirit working in our brain, forming our mental personality and our mental life, is strongly related to our soul, which in Christian theology plays the most important role in human life. In addition, apart from God’s supernal divine features, Christian theology tells us, that he created people according to his image and even shows emotions and feelings like humans.

In the long history of mankind humans of all cultures believed in supernatural beings and invisible ghosts. The first Gods in ancient times have been Gods of nature. About 5.000 years ago the Egypt and centuries later the Greek and Roman Gods and their families even were supposed to live on earth in some very special inaccessible high mountain areas.

According to all actual monotheistic world religions, there is only one God, living in heaven together with his angels. He created our world on earth and finally humans in some extraordinary magic events within a few days. The related story describing genesis was written about 3.500 years ago for people of that time. Even today it provides illustrative pictures of an omnipotent and almighty God, ruling not only his unimaginable celestial (transcendent) world in heaven, but also our real (immanent) world on earth. Consequently, he and his will must be hidden in meanwhile well-known scientific facts, determining not only life on earth, but also the complete development of the universe, starting from the very beginning of its existence.

Today all details of the development of the universe and all details of the evolution of our real world on earth as well as even of life have been revealed by scientific research.  Finally, we are familiar with the never-changing laws of nature, responsible for the dynamics of everything in our world and the intelligence working with them continuously. Up to now all conventional theologies have been based on belief or fundamental presumptions. However, science has changed the world fundamentally. Today’s scientific knowledge enables us to develop a knowledge-based theology, based on scientific facts, showing how divine features of God are revealed in our world by scientific facts, justifying the belief in one God, whose omnipresent volition is continuously active in our real world.

If God wanted to reveal himself on earth, then surely not via a chosen individual, well-knowing that a lot of fake prophets could tell people what they want to hear or what they want them to do. This is one of the reasons for the development of numerous different world religions in the past up to now. Multiple proved scientific facts are the only solid basis of true information. Thus, using knowledge, based on natural science and scientific facts are the best reliable way to reveal God and his intensions on earth.

  1. What are the generally accepted characteristics of God?

Searching for something means clearly knowing what we are looking for. Therefore, first we must define all features, which characterize God theologically, differentiating him from all other terrestrial beings.

Generally accepted, God is a supernal being characterized by five purely divine prominent attributes:

  1. He is a transformable ghost, meaning he is generally invisible but also transformable into visible forms.
  2. He is omnipresent, meaning he is simultaneously present everywhere in the universe.
  3. He is immortal, meaning he lives forever eternally.
  4. He is the ultimate intelligence, knowing everything and doing everything with absolute perfection.
  5. He is omnipotent, meaning he is almighty, he can do and be whatever he wants without any exception. Everything happens according to his volition.

Omnipotence represents the most important purely divine feature. It follows from all other characteristics. If only one of these features is missing, then it is not the true God of our imagination. Thus, only when it is possible to identify all five divine properties in our real world, then a science-based theology is justified.

A theology is not only proving God in the creation process of the universe. Because a volition is the most important feature of intelligent living beings, his intensions should be realized scientifically, explaining the reasons why and how it was done. Thus, identifying God scientifically not only includes to identify his divine features in our immanent world, but also to find clear indications of his motivation and the final target of his volition.  According to his omniscience it also must explain the sense of the universe as well as of nature, life and humans.

  1. Approaching God based on natural sciences

Natural sciences are concerned with our physical world on earth and in the universe. Consequently, when searching God based on scientific facts, we only can anticipate finding his immanent personality. His transcendent personality is completely inaccessible to us.

Cosmological research of the past few decades proved that the whole universe was generated billion years ago out of a singularity.  Thus, before there was any universe, there definitely existed something at time zero of zero size in an immaterial state, having infinite power, energy and ability, differing completely from everything we know in our real world today. It started the universe in a single supernal act, which cannot be described with our well-known laws of nature, because they became much later valid, after matter has been formed. Thus, at time zero and during a theoretical negative time before, there only existed an almighty supernal state or being, which is basically not accessible to any science of our real world and consequently, is a transcendent omnipotent immaterial state or being, described as Holy Spirit of God in the messages of all monotheistic religions.

The singularity at time zero had no physical properties, nevertheless it existed and created the universe.  Thus, we will never understand its special kind of matter, spirit, state or being, we only understand that it generated time and space according to an almighty volition out of one point, forming the initial state as well as the initial conditions for the development of the final complete universe with today’s well-known forms of matter, energy and life in our real world.

Cosmologically, the universe was generated by an unimaginable giant event called Big Bang about 13,8 billion years ago. This does not mean an explosion in already existing space, but an extremely rapid expansion of space out of one point and the immediate transformation of the supernal singularity into matter, generating an almost infinite number of elementary particles in a highly condensed state, characterized by 17 different fundamental subatomic particles: twelve fermions (mass particles) and five bosons (information exchange particles). They represent the building blocks of the nucleons (protons and neutrons), which formed later in time together with electrons, the well-known atoms of the periodic system and with them much later molecules and matter, which finally generated planets, stars and galaxies. This knowledge is based on undisputed cosmologic observations and scientific evidence proving the Big Bang Theory, based on the corresponding physical facts.

Starting with the Big Bang, the universe expanded, according to the well-known laws of physics, describing perfectly everything in space and time. It is very important to realize that particles carry information, predetermining their reaction behavior. This way, the very specific properties of the first particles, which have been the elementary particles, predetermined the generation of all components of our world and whatever happens therein, starting from the very beginning. If the elementary particles had different properties, then also our world would be different.

With the creation of elementary particles, a never-ending communication by exchange and processing of information started, producing four fundamental interactions, described precisely by the Standard Model of Particle Physics. The gravitational and electromagnetic interactions produce long-range forces, whose effects can be seen directly in every day’s life. The strong and weak interactions produce forces at subatomic distances and govern nuclear interactions inside atoms.

  1. God’s seed of the universe

The four elementary forces are the fundamentals of all natural laws, which finally – with the initial conditions of the universe, given by the very specific elementary particles and their ability to communicate – determined the way of our world from the start of time forever. Together with the properties/information of the first particles they represent the initial conditions for all subsequent processes. Thus, scientifically the spirit of the singularity and theologically the Holy Spirit of God transformed first into a very special kind of living subatomic matter, given by specifically designed elementary particles, able to communicate and to develop forces to do something e.g. form protons and neutrons. Like eternally living beings they are eternally present and active in all atoms of the universe, determining with their specific properties the way of the whole universe as well as of our world on earth evolutionary.

Therefore, according to scientific facts, all ingredients for a fully programmed, predetermined development of intelligent life have been implemented in the elementary particles, representing the seed of the universe developing nature and life as well as finally humans in a predetermined way. The Roman catholic priest and physicist Georges Lemaitre denoted this initial state of the universe as “primeval atom”.  With the ability to communicate and act like living beings, a will is implemented in all subatomic elementary particles, generating fundamental forces and finally forming the well-known laws of nature, after generating atoms and molecules. They formed suns and planets and finally, after billions of years they generated organic life on earth and humans. All happenings in our world have been predetermined in the seed of the universe and follow fixed rules, given by precise laws of nature, transforming God’s firm will into action in our world from the very beginning of time. Thus, the originator of the universe implemented his strong volition with the natural laws into his seed of the universe, determining all actions in a definite way and allowing no corrections at all. The resulting development of the universe, of nature and of life, therefore, reflects his motivation and intensions.

  1. Scientific identification of all divine characteristics

As described, everything in the universe originates from an omnipotent supernal singularity, attributed to God’s Holy Spirit which transformed into real matter at the start of time. Thus, the universe including the terrestrial world, nature and us, are the physical immanent part of God’s personality. The mental part of his personality is given by the unchangeable laws of nature, implementing eternally his volition in the development of the universe and of nature as well as life on earth.

Thus, according to a science-based theology, everything in our real world is the actual result of the Spirit of God, who materialized into the seed of the universe, which already contained all information and programs for its very specific development. This way he is eternally present physically and mentally in the development of the universe, of our real world and of life. This proves the versatility, omnipresence and immortality of the creator.

As actual result of God’s seed of the universe, we developed as “his children”, created according to his image, justifying calling him “our father” in Christian theology.  We have been designed with supernal intelligence already billions of years ago, to live on earth with properties according to his inheritance. This proves the superintelligence and omniscience of the originator of the seed of the universe. With the information stored in the elementary particles, the development of everything in the universe, including earth and life on earth has been programmed and thus has been predetermined at time zero precisely for all times. This is like it happens in the seed of nature, where information is stored in the genes, predetermining and programming precisely all details of the development of plants, animals or humans out of one biological cell. Because all seeds represent living systems generated according to inherited properties, the transcendent originator of the seed must have been also a living being, proving his eternal life before and after the Big Bang.

Thus, cosmology and physics allow us to identify all five divine characteristics of God in the creation process of the universe. All characteristics of life and supernal intelligence are present in the generation act of the universe from the very beginning, allowing us to attribute the spirit in the singularity to a living God, whose transcendence transformed into immanent reality in one single magic act, producing the first particles in the seed of the universe. We only know that we are now the actual result of life developed on earth. Only God knows the result of life on other millions of earthlike planets in the universe, which all follow the same natural laws and have been generated the same way out of the same seed of the universe.

  1. Eternal life

Generally, life refers to organic systems like bacteria, plants, animals and humans. It originated about 4 billion years ago on earth (4), starting out of one ancestor cell. The first land plants appeared approximately 470 million years ago. The first animal on land lived around 400 million years ago. Finally, the first human, the Homo erectus, appeared around one million years ago and spread throughout Africa and Eurasia. The first culture-bearing Homo sapiens lived in Africa about 300 thousand years ago.

Life of all plants, animals and humans has a restricted lifetime. It starts with birth and ends with death. However, life itself does not die, because it is reproduced continuously. It is passed to the next generation by living cells, well-known as seeds or eggs, carrying complete information for the development of the individual different forms of life on earth. So, life is never interrupted. It lives forever. In other words, birth is not the start of life, it’s only the start of a new physical and mental life in a renewed body. It is the same physical life as before, passed alive from one generation to the next, according to a set of information stored in the genes. Thus, in principle life lives eternally, well-knowing that there exists no real eternality in our real world, because there was a start and there also will be an end of the universe.

Biological life on earth is characterized by physical and chemical activities in organic cells programmed by genetic information. Physical life has been complemented by mental life in animals and humans with the development of nerves and sensory organs. Mental life is based on information, collected during our lifetime by our sensual organs and stored in our brain. Thus, the basis of life, as we know it, is the ability to process information, physically to generate chemical and physical action in the growth process, as well as mentally to be able to think in our brains and to communicate with other people.

Generally, life is only well-known in organic systems. Inorganic systems don’t show any special features of organic life, like growth or self-replication, but they all are able to process information starting with the elementary particles in the seed of the universe. The first simple form of organic life was given by a cell, which has been able to grow and to reproduce itself by division into two parts together with a set of molecular information, stored on a special molecule, called DNA (deoxynucleic acid), concerning its construction and abilities.

The question arises, why was the cell interested in growing and reproducing itself? Obviously, it was possible to do it, but why? There was no need or reason and no obvious advantage for the system to do so. Thus, it seemed to be senseless. It only made sense, when knowing that it is essential for the start of organic life, targeted to finally produce human life. So whenever statistically only one molecule in the cell had the correct information, that is the correct molecular arrangement along the DNA, then it survived and started life.  Therefore, developing human life and intelligence is part of the intensions implemented in natural laws, responsible for all actions in the world.

God’s volition, starting biological life this way, has been implemented billions of years ago into the evolution program of the universe via information, carried by the very specific elementary particles, representing God’s seed of the universe, programmed to finally generate intelligent human life. This result demonstrates again the unimaginable giant intelligence of God’s spirit, who transformed himself at time zero into the seed of the universe and programmed it with highest perfection from the very beginning, to develop everything on earth, targeting intelligent life. So, the intension of God was already at time zero to develop himself with the universe and the world as it happened during billions of years and finally to develop life and humans as his descendants.

Owing to the supernal intelligence of God’s creation process, any further intervention or correction in the predetermined evolution of the universe and of life are excluded, because they would disturb his will and discredit his supernal intelligence.

  1. Conclusions

Recent insights in natural sciences made it possible to develop a science-based theology, revealing the immanent part of God and his firm volition in our real world. Deduced from firmly settled scientific knowledge concerning the details and timeline of the Big Bang, his spirit transformed himself by one single act into the first particles of the universe. They are characterized by an almost infinite number of only 17 very specific elementary particles, representing the God’s seed of the universe, because they have very specific information as well as abilities and programs to develop specific systems and beings. This is in analogy to the seed of a plant, representing the starting particles, containing all programs for a precise development of a plant. Thus, in God’s creation act, he transformed himself into the seed of the universe. This way the development of everything became preprogrammed for all times in the universe, including our earth as well as the generation and evolution of life and of us. However, what we are doing, thinking and deciding, depends on sense information, which is not preprogrammed by natural laws. In addition, thinking and feeling as well as the environmental conditions of all individuals are very different and change continuously, underlying statistical processes.

The supernal singularity creating the universe shows purely divine spiritual features, which can be ascribed to the Holy Spirit of God. His immediate transformation into matter confirms his versatility, omnipotence, omnipresence, superintelligence and firm volition, creating the seed for everything in the whole universe at once in one single act and fully programmed with supernal perfection, according to his intensions. Since this seed originates from a transcendent state out of a singularity, attributed to the Spirit of God, the universe – including nature and all beings on earth – are the immanent part of him. Thus, God is our first human ancestor. He developed himself, according to his will first out of the seed of the universe and later out of the first living organic cell with genetic information, enabling eternal organic life on earth. Consequently, as revealed by scientific facts of cosmology and very generally by natural sciences, God leads an eternal life in the whole universe as well as in all of us.

As written in the bible, we are the crown of the creation, according to God’s image, meaning we have inherited properties of God, at least concerning our appearance and behavior. This is also in accordance with a science-based theology, revealing that we are the descendants of God’s immanent part on earth.

Life starts with birth and ends with death. This statement refers only to the individual life of humans and animals.  For us it’s the life of our body including our spirit, working in our brain.  We are only part of human life, like the leaves of a tree. They die after a certain time, but the tree stays alive. Scientifically, we are not only born once in the world, because human life is passed with genetic information uninterrupted alive from generation to generation. Thus, all of us are the descendants of one individual ancestor, who reproduces himself continuously. Reproduction is the only way to live eternally, because all organic beings are aging and losing their abilities with time. In this way the immanent part of God is living in us eternally.

Our body lives only once and dies. In each generation he has been renewed using inherited information from the past, concerning his construction and possibilities. Owing to almost unchanged genetic information, our body is generated over thousands of years almost identical in every generation, since the first appearance of the Homo sapiens. However, his mental self is completely different every time. It emerges from experiences gathered during a lifetime in different environments, families and communities, changing completely in every generation. Most people cannot understand that we had earlier lives, because of the missing remembrance. However, all relevant information concerning all lives is erased completely with the death of the corresponding brains.

What do we know scientifically about our life before birth and after death? A prerequisite of life is information, its communication and processing, leading to predetermined actions. Information as well as its mechanisms of communication and processing have been very different during the development of the universe. But the base of all information processing, even today is given by the first information implemented in the universe by the characteristic properties of the elementary particles, characterized essentially by mass, charge and spin. The only difference is given by the development of additional information during the evolution of the atoms of the periodic system and of millions of molecules, all characterized by very different specific information, determining their physical and chemical properties.

The first important change of paradigm happened with the start of organic life exchanging and processing genetic information, using the very specific properties of the DNA molecules, starting in the original primeval cell and much later in all living species. The next important changes were the processing of sensual information in the nervous system, and finally the processing of human-made communication with spoken or written information. In the last years technical information processing with binary information in computers and communication of messages with radio and television have changed our world completely.

Electronic information processing and storage, using inorganic material in computers is very similar to mental information processing and storage in our brain. Computers can calculate, think and even are able to develop artificial intelligence. Thus, they exhibit features of inorganic life. Like God created the universe and implemented his will into all its processes, we created technical machines and implemented our will into their processes. God’s will is implemented in the information processing of genetic life and of mental life. Our will is implemented in the information processing of computers.

Being the descendants of God, it is not surprising to participate to a very small but certain degree in his divine features. Like the seed of a tree, generation first roots, later branches, leaves, flowers and finally fruits, the seed of the universe also follows a special development, producing finally a complex system step by step, where the fruits of a tree correspond to humans produced last in the growth process. Our “divine” inheritance can be described as follows:

  1. We have an invisible mental life, working with information in our brain, implementing our will in our actions. We also have an invisible spirit in our inherited estate, which always transforms us into a new person from generation to generation.
  2. However, we are far from being omnipresent. We only can be present in some places on earth, not in the universe and not in matter.
  3. We are not immortal individually, but we are reproduced again and again without interruption of life.
  4. We have a certain degree of intelligence, enabling us to know and to invent a lot, to gather new information and to realize a lot.
  5. Finally, we participate to an extremely small degree in his omnipotence, being able to create objects as well as technical and electronic machinery, acting precisely according to our will.

Summarizing, it has been possible to establish a science-based theology, which not only identifies the universe as immanent part of God, but also how he implemented his will in all actions within the universe, including life on earth. In addition, the most important result of his volition is given by the evolution of life. It obviously shows his firm intention to create intelligent beings as descendants of himself. Thus, science cannot proof the existence of God as an individual living being on earth or in the universe, it only can prove his existence and intensions at time zero. His transformation into matter and information in only one single act at the very start of the universe, formed his seed of the universe as well as later the seed of life, finally developing humans on earth, showing certain inborn characteristics of his divine properties.
